Calling all Sock Knitters!
This October 2021, as part of the Spooky Season Stitch-Along, I am going to be hosting a super fun Knit-Along (KAL) featuring my Arethusa Falls Socks knitting pattern. In this post, I'm going to explain all the details so that we'll all be ready to go on October 1st!
I've teamed up with Allison of Stitchery & Co. and Robyn of Teeny Button Studio to celebrate the cozy, spooky fun of October. We're calling it the Spooky Season Stitch-Along, and this year we are focusing on socks. Please check out Allison's blog post for more info on this stitch-along.
As part of the greater stitch-along, I am hosting my very own knit-along event for those of you who are planning on working up the featured knit pattern, my Arethusa Falls Socks. This means that anything you knit with this pattern can be entered to win prizes in BOTH events. Let's focus on the details of my KAL, shall we?
Who: Hosted by pattern designer Lauren Cairns of Granite State Yarns (that's me!)
What: Knit a pair of socks using the Arethusa Falls Socks pattern, a fun and easy knit/purl textured sock.
When: We'll cast on October 1, 2021 and finish our pairs of socks by October 31, 2021
Why: To celebrate #SpookySeasonSAL
How: All you need to do to participate is to purchase and download the Arethusa Falls Socks pattern available here on my website. Every time you post a picture of your work in progress (WIP) or finished socks on Instagram, please tag me @granitestateyarns and use the hashtag #ArethusaFallsKAL and you'll be entered to win prizes! Don't forget to tag @allisonmclarke and use the hashtag #SpookySeasonSAL, too, so you can be entered to win her prizes!
If you want even more chances to win, you can knit your socks using my yarn. I suggest using the All Hallow's Eve sock set because it will get you bonus entries in the #SpookySeasonSAL. However, it is not a requirement that you use my yarn for this KAL, just my pattern. If you do use my yarn (thank you!), you'll get bonus entries for this KAL.
Depending on the response and interest, I'd love to do an IG Live at least once during the KAL. We can chat about our knitting and help one another out, cheering everyone on! More details can be found by following me on Instagram @granitestateyarns.
I don't know about any of you, but I sure think that some of the best parts of a KAL are the prizes! I will have three (yes, THREE!) different giveaways.
#1: All Hallow's Eve Sock Set AND a copy of the Arethusa Falls pattern
You can enter on Instagram--look for the GIVEAWAY post on my Instagram feed on Wednesday, August 18th for all the details to enter. I'll draw a winner on August 23rd.
#2: $25 Gift Certificate to Granite State Yarns
Every time you post a picture on Instagram showcasing your progress on your Arethusa Falls socks, please tag me @granitestateyarns use the hashtag #ArethusaFallsKAL to be entered to win a $25 gift certificate to my shop. You can enter as many pictures as you'd like and each will count as an entry. If you are using Granite State Yarns sock yarn, you'll get TWO entries! At the end of the KAL, I'll draw a winner using a random number generator!
#3: -GRAND PRIZE- Winter Mystery Yarn Box
All finished pairs of Arethusa Falls Socks that have been tagged @granitestateyarns and use the hashtag #ArethusaFallsKAL will be entered to win my Winter Mystery Yarn Box, which will be available to purchase on my website sometime this fall. It will contain at least 100g of sock yarn, along with some fun seasonal goodies to get you in the winter spirit. Each finished pair will count for ONE entry for this prize. If you use Granite State Yarns sock yarn, you can earn one additional entry. At the end of the KAL, using a random number generator, I'll draw one winner from all of the finished pairs of Arethusa Falls Socks.
Will you accept WIPs?
No. All socks must be cast on no earlier than midnight October 1 (your time zone). In order to qualify for the grand prize, you'll need to finish one pair of Arethusa Falls Socks by 11:59pm October 31st.
Can I enter more than one pair of socks?
Certainly! As long as they were knit completely in the month of October, you can enter as many as you'd like!
What if I can't finish a pair in a month?
No worries! Not everyone knits quickly, and life happens, so that's why I am also giving away a prize for sharing your WIPs (works in progress).
Will you ship prizes worldwide?
I don't have an Instagram. Can I still join?
I understand that not everyone uses Instagram, but for this KAL, I've chosen this platform. I may try other methods in the future, though!
I still have questions. What should I do?
Contact me! I have links in the CONTACT tab at the top of this page.
Nota bene: This KAL and the resulting giveaway and prizes are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram. Void where prohibited.
